My 02 wr250f is difficult to start. I wanted to get an 03 wr250f but there more expensive as the 02s and theres fewer of there and i was wondering if i could fit an electric start to an 02 model. Start date sep 12 2002. Joined sep 12 2002 messages.

Hot starting is the major problem. I know the airbox and side shrouds changed so the battery could be mounted but are the cases unchanged. For the green sticker years 1998 2002 is there a kit for an electric start. I ve only seen one guy with one and he said that it wasn t very reliable.

Does anyone know what year yamaha started fitting both the 250 and the 450 with a starter. Does anyone know if the new 03 wr250f electric start bolt up to the 01 or 02 yz250f. I have had a couple of guys go over different starting procedures. Secondly do they make a e start conversion for my 02.

It was a starter kit that came with a new cover starter flywheel electrics etc. I always had to bump start the bastard. I got to play with a friends wr250 2007 or 2006 i think and now am looking for a used 250 or 450. 2 questions first could someone give me there opinion on the correct starting procedure.

There used to be a kit back when the wr first came out that you could bolt on an electric starter but not too many sold. Thanks bill ps the nice part is i m in colorado now so the wr will end up sprouting a tag. It would be great. If so will it bolt up.
